Heads up, Interstate 4 drivers heading west: You should plan to take an alternative route to get to State Road 408 east today.

As construction on the I-4 Ultimate project continues, the Florida Department of Transportation is changing traffic patterns around downtown Orlando.

As a result, drivers should plan to take one of the following routes from I-4 westbound to State Road 408 eastbound, the agency said in a news release: Exit at Ivanhoe Boulevard, travel south on Orange Avenue and turn left on Anderson Street; exit at Anderson Street, turn left on Anderson Street and follow signs to eastbound S.R. 408; or exit at westbound S.R. 408, then exit at Orange Blossom Trail and enter eastbound S.R. 408 from there.

With an estimated price tag of $2.3 billion, the I-4 Ultimate project involves overhauling 21 miles of I-4 through Orlando and parts of Seminole and Orange County.
