Altamonte Springs’ Red Hot & Boom canceled

Orlando Sentinel - - NATION & WORLD -

Altamonte Springs’ annual Red Hot & Boom fireworks show is the latest local Fourth of July celebration to be canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, WKMG-Channel 6 reported Tuesday.

The July 3 event, which WKMG dubs the area’s largest fireworks show, has attracted nearly 250,000 spectators in the past. The high volume of people compacted into Cranes Roost Park for the show could pose a health risk to visitors, Altamonte Springs City Manager Franklin Martz told WKMG in an emailed statement.
