Police: Suspect arrested in Parliament House shooting
A man suspected of shooting two people in the parking lot of the Parliament House motel this month was arrested Wednesday, according to the Orlando Police Department.
Police found Yves Regis, 29, staying at a motel in Orlovista and arrested him on a charge of attempted murder for the May 15 shooting.
According to a case report, officers responded to a call from a Parliament
House security guard around 8:30 p.m. reporting a man pointing a rifle outside of a car in the motel’s parking lot. Their investigation found nine shell casings outside the west side of the motel, which faces Rock Lake.
The two victims, cousins Albert Williams Jr. and Lorenza Morris Jr., were taken to ORMC with feet and leg injuries. Police said the victims likely knew the shooter.
