Mall at Millenia in Orlando lands an Amazon 4-Star store
A store selling Amazon’s top items is planned for Mall at Millenia.
The Amazon 4-Star store will sell electronics, toys, books, kitchen products and home goods, according to the company’s website. The products are either top sellers, new and trending on the online retailer’s website or rated with at least four stars by customers.
Amazon Prime members will be able to pay the same prices in person as they would online.
A spokeswoman confirmed the company is hiring for the store at Mall at Millenia, 4200 Conroy Road, but did not provide additional details such as when it might open or the size of the shop.
Amazon 4-Star locations are also planned for Miami Beach and Palm Beach Gardens.
The store is the latest development as Amazon grows its presence in Central Florida.
In March, Amazon Prime shoppers in Orlando started having the option to get their items such as diapers and dog food delivered in hours or overnight, with a same-day delivery facility on Kingspointe Parkway.
The online retailer is also working to increase its distribution footprint, with a 1.4-million-square-foot warehouse under construction in Deltona. That project was approved for an estimated $2.5 million tax incentive.
A 1-million-square-foot center has also been announced for Polk County.
The brick-and-mortar shop is also coming as traditional retailers close locations across the region because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Mall anchor JCPenney has announced it will shutter its Orlando Fashion Square store as part of a first phase of 154 closures.
Off-price retailer Tuesday Morning is closing stores in Apopka, Kissimmee and Daytona Beach, and home decor and accessories business Pier 1 Imports is closing all of its locations.
