General Douglass crossed the line
John Douglass in his commentary (“Preserving the sacred duty of the military,” Saturday) refers to a non-political military which is proper. However, he finishes with a political statement regarding the election. That is his right but he crosses the line with a picture of him in uniform and using his military rank. The military’s duty to protect the U.S. Constitution is in only following lawful orders, not in advocating candidates. He perpetrated what he criticized.
