Generals have no place in political conversations
While I thank Gen. John Douglass for his service to our country, I also wish him Godspeed in retirement. Politically minded generals like him, and those he mentioned, have no place in this conversation. The military’s job is to protect the U.S. Constitution, America and its citizens from all enemies, foreign and domestic. I did not see that last qualifier mentioned anywhere.
His perspective on “overwhelmingly peaceful protesters” does not comport with the facts: Innocent lives lost to those protesters, millions of dollars of damage, the loss of jobs due to the looting and rioting. No honest, hard-working American would agree with your perspective. Our military will always be the best and brightest in the world, despite your attempts to de-politicize your political viewpoint on our president.
