Disneyland Paris begins reopening July 15
Disneyland Paris will launch its phased reopening July 15, it was announced Monday. The resort, including its two theme parks, has been closed since mid-March in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, Disney’s Newport Bay Club Hotel and Disney Village, a shopping/dining/entertainment complex, will constitute the first phase to reopen.
The news comes on the heels of Hong Kong Disneyland reopening last week. Shanghai Disneyland opened back up in May.
Walt Disney World’s theme parks are set to welcome the public again in Orlando on July 11 at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, followed by Epcot and Hollywood Studios on July 15. Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are set to reopen July 17.
Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea have not yet announced reopening dates.
At Disneyland Paris, some popular elements will be missing at first, including the Disney Stars on Parade and Disney Illuminations nighttime spectacular. “The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands” and “Jungle Book Jive” shows will return later this summer, it said.
The resort, located in Marne-la Vallée, will reopen with a limited number of tickets each day and an online reservation system. The Fast Pass system will be suspended. Face coverings will be required.
Disneyland Paris also shared its phased reopening schedule for other Disney hotels including Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne on July 20, Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe (Aug. 3) and the Disneyland Hotel (Sept. 7). Disney’s Sequoia Lodge Hotel and Disney’s Davy Crocket Ranch will stay closed during the summer; their reopening dates will be announced later.
