Central Florida celebrates National Pie Day with deals

If you prefer your dessert in a flaky, buttery, sweet crust stuffed with fillings from pumpkin to cherry, apple, key lime and pudding, then rejoice on Jan. 23. It’s National Pie Day.

Businesses around Central Florida are offering some pie specials and deals on National Pie Day and beyond. Here are a few.

Winter Park Pie Company

Act fast to earn free pies and cupcakes. Winter Park Pie Company (1901 Gipson Green Lane in Winter Park) is hosting a giveaway on Instagram, and the drawing with take place on Jan. 23. The rules? Like the giveaway post on their Instagram page and follow @winterparkpiecompany. Then tag a friend and comment on your favorite Winter Park Pie Company flavor in the comments section of the giveaway post. Bonus: Get an extra entry if you repost on your feed or story and tag Winter Park Pie Company (accounts must be public to verify). Winners — who will receive four mini pies and two cupcakes to be picked up by Jan. 30 — will be chosen at 6 p.m. on Jan.

Se7en Bites (617 N. Primrose Drive in Orlando) isn’t offering any deals, but the bakery will be serving up its traditional “7” pies on Jan. 23. This year’s lineup includes the salted caramel dark chocolate pecan pie (“the pie that started our business,” chef/owner Trina Gregory-Propst said), “crack” pie, coconut cream pie, All American apple galette, chocolate peanut butter pie, “snozberry” pie and guava cream cheese hand pies.

Buttermilk Bakery

While they aren’t offering any discounts Buttermilk Bakery (1198 N. Orange Ave. in Winter Park) will have slices of their Buttermilk Pie available on National Pie Day.

Village Inn

Get $2 off any whole pie at participating locations on Jan. 23. Plus, enjoy a free slice of pie every Wednesday when purchasing an entrée (valid for dine-in only).

Perkins Restaurant & Bakery

Mark the holiday a couple of days late at Perkins. From 9-11 a.m. Mondays, enjoy a free slice of pie with an entree purchase.

O’Charley’s

Celebrate National Pie Day a few days late with O’Charley’s Restaurant & Bar. Get a free slice of pie with the purchase of an adult entree every Wednesday. For those who prefer to dine at home, order a family-style meal to-go or for curbside pickup on Wednesdays at O’Charley’s and receive a free pie.
