Bottom line: Knights’ 4 units all chipping in

Max Pacioretty and the top line of the Golden Knights are rolling right along. Same with William Karlsson’s group on the second unit and right on down the lines.

Bottom line: The Golden Knights are operating four highly productive lines heading into their semifinal showdown with the Canadiens in a best-ofseven series that starts Monday in Vegas.

In all, the Golden Knights have seen 16 different players score so far in the postseason and 21 register at least a point.

“We’ve had so many contributions from so many guys,” said Vegas coach Pete DeBoer, whose team knocked off top-seeded Avalanche in six games during the second round after holding off the Wild in a sevengame series to open the playoffs. “We’re the sum of our parts.”

And those parts are firing on all cylinders, along with their blueline pairings. The Golden Knights are far from top-line dependent.

NBA: The shoulder injury that ended Toronto forward Pascal Siakam’s season early will likely force him to miss the start of next season. The Raptors said Friday that Siakam had surgery last week to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, with an anticipated recovery time of five months. That timetable, if precise, would mean Siakam can play again in early November — about two weeks after the NBA plans to start. Siakam led the Raptors in scoring this season, averaging 21.4 points per game.

Soccer: Italy waited a long time for this European Championship to start and then showed Friday just how eager the team was to play the tournament opener. After humiliatingly failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, Italy was already back on track with a perfect qualifying campaign of 10 wins in 10 matches. Now Roberto Mancini’s team has begun its first major international tournament in five years with a convincing 3-0 win over Turkey.
