Longwood police have arrested a man they suspect killed another man at his home, stole the victim’s car and dumped his body in a river in Brevard County.

Officers were called Wednesday to a home in the 300 block of Heather Avenue about one of the home’s residents, Trevor O. Morrison, being missing. His sister told officers she hadn’t spoken to Morrison since June 3 and she was concerned for his well-being because he wasn’t answering phone calls. She went inside the home and found Morrison, who is diabetic, was not there and was without his insulin, an arrest affidavit said.

Morrison was reported missing and officers put out a “be on the lookout” for his 2021 Audi, which also was gone.

Osceola County deputies found the Audi Wednesday at a Kentucky Fried Chicken on U.S. 192, police said. Deputies found two people in the car: the driver, Leekhan Bryan, who was an acquaintance of Morrison, and a woman, said Longwood police Lt. Adam Bryant.

Bryan was arrested on grand theft of a motor vehicle, kidnapping and aggravated battery charges, records show.

Investigators then learned that a boater found a body floating in the Banana River in Merritt Island Tuesday evening in a case being investigated by the Brevard County Sheriff ’s Office. The body was later identified as Morrison and his death was classified as a homicide, Bryant said.

Bryan is not yet charged with killing Morrison.

Bryan is at the Osceola County Jail without bond and is awaiting extradition to Seminole County. Detectives heavily redacted his affidavit, citing an open investigation. No other details were released.
