Clips sign Leonard to 4-year, $176.3M deal
All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard will remain with the Clippers after signing a four-year contract worth $176.3 million, according to reports Thursday.
The deal includes a player option for the final season.
Leonard, 30, a two-time NBA Finals MVP while with the Spurs and Raptors, averaged 26 points, 6.8 rebounds and five assists in his first two seasons with his hometown team. He suffered a partially torn right ACL during the playoffs and missed the Clippers’ first Western Conference finals appearance.
Leonard had surgery on his knee a month ago. He could miss a good portion of next season while rehabbing.
Leonard declined his $36 million option last week.
