Storms cause havoc again

- By Buddy Collings

High school football’s Central Florida was shaken up by stormy weather for the third consecutive week on Friday night.

The Timber Creek (1-2) at Hagerty (1-1) game was called off before it began due to field conditions and the threat of lightning in the area. That game was moved to Monday night at 7, as was the Oviedo (3-0) at DeLand (0-1) game.

Viera (1-1) at East River (1-2) was shifted to Saturday at 10 a.m. due to the inclement weather.

Big games that began late included the Kissimmee Osceola (1-1) at Olympia (1-1) matchup of Sentinel Super 16 teams in Orlando. Area No. 1 Seminole (3-0) was delayed before taking the field at Flagler Palm Coast (2-0).

Get the story on those games and others at SentinelVarsity.com and in Saturday’s Orlando Sentinel newspaper.
