Rainy night couldn’t stop fans of Chris Stapleton

On a rainy Thursday night, a sold-out crowd turned out to see five-time Grammy Award winner Chris Stapleton perform on his All-American Road Show Tour at Orlando’s Amway Center.

After the initial postponement of the tour in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the show goes on and longtime fans were more than ready.

Every Chris Stapleton fan has a song they connect with, whether it is a throwback or a new one, and Emmett Ellison’s favorite is “Nobody To Blame.”

“I’m a fan of his style of music, and enjoy watching talented artists perform live,” Ellison said.

Other fans came from farther away to see the country music star.

Longtime fan Lauren Whitfill came from New Symrna Beach to see the singer perform. Whitfill said she had wanted to see Stapleton in concert for years and never had the opportunity to do so until Thursday night when she couldn’t pass it up.

“I love every single Chris Stapleton song, ‘Tennessee Whiskey’ will be every other basic brat’s favorite,” Whitfill said. “But

I’m a fan of ‘Might As Well Get Stoned’ or my absolute love song ‘Joy Of My Life.’”

Chris Stapleton’s music brings together fans like no other, and Ginny Lynn Blackmore said Stapleton is her fiance’s favorite country artist because he has a country bluegrass voice.

The two found Stapleton’s music through his most popular song “Tennessee Whiskey.” Both enjoy singing the song at karaoke nights as well.

Stapleton released “Tennessee Whiskey” on May 5, 2015, and the song has since gone platinum seven times and sold around 7 million units, according to the Recording Industry Association of America’s website.

Since the postponement of the Orlando concert in 2020, fans had to wait a year to see Stapleton perform and anticipation has been brewing ever since.

Ellison figured the show would be canceled at one point, and when he found out it was rescheduled, he was beyond excited.

“I’m just happy the show finally happened,” Ellison said. “And for it to be wide open without any real restrictions, [that] truly made it feel like the pandemic is finally coming to an end.”
