The Florida Department of Health reported 10,828 new coronavirus cases this week among Florida residents to bring the cumulative total to 3,677,968. With 384 more fatalities on record, 61,081 Florida residents have died.

This week’s 384 deaths reflect an increase from the 363 reported last week, but deaths can take several days or weeks to be reported. The majority of the newly reported deaths are people who died before this week.

The number of weekly cases increased compared to the previous week’s 10,746. Positivity stayed at 2.5% but that’s for new cases only and excludes anyone who previously tested positive.

Of note, the state reports deal only with Florida resident cases and exclude non-residents cases, which are no longer available.

Across the state, 1,256 people are hospitalized with COVID19 from Nov. 10-15, according to the latest White House report. In comparison, 1,425 were hospitalized the previous week. The week before that, it was 1,535.

Statewide, 14,180,980 residents, or 68% of people age 5 and up, have received at least one vaccination shot, including 10,068,484 who have completed their shot regimens through Nov. 18. Statewide, 233,474 received an additional dose last week, bringing the total to 2,276,324.

Central Florida added 2,185 resident infections this week, based on the actual date the state opened the case, for a total of 722,428: 383 more in Orange for 229,653; 270 more in Osceola for 72,332; 362 more in Polk for 129,514; 246 more in Lake for 55,176; 51 more in Sumter for 14,703; 351 more in Volusia for 76,793; 229 more in Brevard for 81,335; and 293 more in Seminole for 62,922.
