Thomas “Tom” Lee Stewart
Tom Stewart, 74, of E. Palatka passed away on October 12, 2021. Tom was born in St. Augustine, Florida to Elmer and Betty Jean Stewart. He grew up in Orlando and attended Boone High School. After high school Tom joined the U. S. Navy and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home from the war Tom started a family, having his first daughter, while working for Coca Cola as a delivery truck driver. In the
early 1980’s Tom expanded his family, adding two more daughters, while working as a plumber. Years later Tom
started his own company specializing in plumbing related camera inspections. Most recently he was employed by St Johns Family Funeral Home in St. Augustine, where he formed strong friendships based on mutual love and admiration. Tom never knew a stranger, if you gave him a minute he would share an entertaining story, talk sports or politics and that minute turned into many more. He oddly knew a little bit about everything and enjoyed a friendly debate. He was a kind and caring man who loved having fun! Whether it was dressing goofy, acting silly, playing cards with his daughters and later in life rolling around on the floor playing with his grand kids, he was all in! He loved God, his country and the
Florida Gators! He will be deeply missed by family and friends alike. Tom left this world too soon, leaving behind his wife Dorene, sister Susan, daughters Stefanie (Craig), Tina (Rob), Heather, a son in law Vince, a stepson Tim who he thought of and loved as his own son, and grandchildren Shelby, Vinny, Maggie, Stanly and
Carson, as well as beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held from 12 noon to 3 pm on Saturday, December 4th at his daughter’s home in Orlando. For details text Stefanie at 321-276-5965. His daughters and grandchildren would love to see any pictures you would like to share and hear some of your favorite memories of their Dad/Papa.
