Gordon

Gordon Monroe Eddins was called home by his Lord and Savior on December 5, 2021, at the age of 87. He was born In Pensacola, Florida to George and Clara Mae Eddins and was 6 of 7 children. He attended Pensacola High School and graduated in 1951. At the age of 17, Gordon joined the United

States Air Force and became an Avionics Technician. After 25 years of service, he retired as a Master Sergeant and resided in the Central Florida area. He went back to school at UCF and graduated with a master’s degree in mathematic­s. Gordon began teaching at Orlando and Webster Vocational Schools until starting up the Electronic­s Department at Mid-Florida Tech until retiring from teaching.

Gordon loved singing gospel and participat­ing in VICA activities. He was an avid collector of many things and always had a thirst for knowledge. He also loved reunions with his cousins, family, and military family as well as being a faithful member of the Conway First Baptist Church.

Gordon was recently widowed but enjoyed 62 years of marriage to Sara. He is survived by his daughters, Lenida Cortez (David) and Laura Catapano. Grandchild­ren: Jeffrey Eddins (Traci), Michael Eddins, Nikki Catapano, Dominic Catapano, James Beagan (Jesika), Richard Long (Makenzy), Timothy Chesteine II (Kearstyn) and Amanda Herman (Scott) as well as 11 great grandchild­ren. He is predecease­d by his daughter Elana Lynn, son Glenn Eddins, and wife Sara.

Services will be held at Conway First Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida on December 13, 2021. Visitation at 3:30 pm and service at 4 pm.
