Ticked off! @limited menu

-

I’m really ticked off at HomeAdvisor. I searched the Internet for gutter replacement, contacted two directly, and picked my installer. My phone since then has not stopped ringing with companies that want to clean my gutters. Can’t they read? This is egregious.

What’s with the DOT engineers who designed the on ramp to State Road 414 eastbound off of State Road 434, both northbound and southbound, to merge onto 414 east with traffic also trying to exit 414 to Maitland Summit Boulevard and Keller Road, with only a perhaps 30-yard legal merge zone. What?! Stupidity at it’s worst.

I am ticked off because I don’t know what an added tax is and I don’t know what a hidden fee is.

There is an eating establishment in Lake Mary that hosts bingo on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. They have not changed their extremely limited menu in many, many years. They want us to buy food while playing, but we’re tired of eating the same thing every week. Give your patrons a break, please.

I’m greatly disappointed with drivers who are motivated to put hateful, nasty decals on their vehicles. Yesterday, I saw a huge one of a mean-looking skeleton making an evil face and giving an ugly gesture, too. It was on the back window of a huge pickup truck. I couldn’t help but wonder what was the driver’s intention; does he think that’s funny or does he hate everybody or what? In any case, it sure brought me down for a moment. Pray to our Lord and Savior keeping watch over us if only we ask!

The flip side

I want to thank the woman who left a note on my car windshield saying, “Thank you for your service -- A proud military daughter.” This was a pleasant surprise to start my day. Not having boots on the ground, I have a hard time reconciling why I was spared when so many young men (at the time 1966-1968) my age (19-20) were lost. You’re welcome and thank you.
