Lawrence Edward Mohrman

Our father and grandfather, Lawrence Edward Mohrman, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in Orlando, Florida. He was 77 years old.

He was born on November 25, 1944, in Elyria, Ohio. A retired Master Machinist, he worked his entire life in the manufacturing industry and loved tools. Often known around the machine shop as “Dad,” to the young crowd, he was a mentor, teacher and someone who could make anyone laugh. He was very proud of his profession and the skill that it took to get the job done, and done right.

He’d always dreamt of becoming a pilot, and did just that in his mid-40s. He flew small aircraft out of Brown Field, in California, and loved being among the clouds where it was quiet, peaceful and he was in control.

After spending 40 years in California, he retired to Orlando in 2012 to be near his family. He loved the fact that his father, brother and nephew had served in the military and he made many amazing friends in those 10 short years here. He was often referred to as “Old Man,” and looked forward to his daily Wawa gatherings for coffee and conversation. His neighbors invited him to dinners, celebrations and looked out for him...he loved them very much.

His greatest love was for his cats...his companions that brought him joy and comfort. Mango, Big Boy, and Bubba will continue to know love and we promise you, they will be taken care of.

Dad, wherever you are, we hope you are enjoying endless reruns of “Law and Order,” plenty of cold Coors Light, maybe playing a poker machine and watching some NASCAR. Tell Frank we miss him. We know you are surrounded by purring cat companions who have moved on before you. Until we see you again, when the first thing you will say to us is “Hi, honey,” only in the way you could, know that through it all, you were loved. Always.
