Dracula, Mummy, Wolf Man to star at Universal’s haunted houses
Universal Orlando has announced the first of its haunted houses for the 2022 edition of Halloween Horror Nights, and it features three classic monsters: Dracula, the Mummy and the Wolf Man.
The storyline of the upcoming Universal Monsters: Legends Collide house is set in the 19th century with the three characters all seeking the amulet of Ra. Wolf Man would use the relic to lift his curse, Universal said in a news release “while Dracula and the Mummy have nefarious plans to use it to bring humankind to its knees.” Other elements: a full moon, “bloodthirsty battle” and a race against time.
Tuesday’s announcement comes as the presence of Universal monsters is in flux at Universal Studios theme park. Monsters Cafe, a quick-service restaurant has been officially closed, and the nearby Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster has been in refurbishment mode since early January. Its reopening was set for late summer.
Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights event runs on select nights from Sept. 2 through Oct. 31. It will feature 10 maze-style haunted houses, five scare zones and two live shows, the resort has said.
Single-night tickets are now on sale at HalloweenHorrorNights.com/orlando.
Universal Studios Hollywood will also have a Universal Monsters haunted house. Its event begins Sept. 8.
