Halloween Horror Nights & more canceled due to Hurricane Ian

Hurricane Ian will impact the Central Florida area this week with strong winds, heavy rain and more forecast to impact the area. As a precaution, several events, including concerts and theme park events have been canceled including the following:

„ ■ Lake Nona Regional Chamber: All scheduled events (committee meetings, events, office hours) are canceled or postponed starting at noon Sept. 27 through at least Friday.

„ ■ Tasty Takeover: Sept. 27 event is canceled.

„ ■ The Wheel at ICON Park and Carousal on The Promenade: Closed beginning Sept. 27, all events canceled, reopening TBD. „ ■ Arts on Douglas: The New Smyrna Beach gallery is closed Sept. 29-Oct. 1. The opening of Karlene McConnell’s exhibition is reschedule­d for Oct. 8

„ ■ Crayola Experience: Closed Sept. 28-29.

„ ■ Crealdé School of Art: Campus is closed Sept. 28-30, with all classes and events canceled.

„ ■ Enzian Theater: Closed

Sept. 28-29.

„ ■ Hannibal Square Heritage Center: Closed Sept. 28-30, with all classes and events canceled.

„ ■ The History Center Closed Sept. 28-30, scheduled to reopen Oct. 1.

„ ■ Legoland Florida: Both Legoland Florida and Peppa Pig theme parks are closed, and all events are canceled Sept. 28-29.

„ ■ Madame Tussauds Orlando & SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium: Closed Sept. 28-29.

„ ■ Morse Museum of American Art: Closed Sept. 28-29.

„ ■ Orlando Repertory Theatre: All daytime fieldtrip performanc­es are canceled through Sept. 30. The 7 p.m. Sept. 30 performanc­e of “Dog Man: The Musical” is still on the schedule.

„ ■ Orlando Science Center: Closed Sept. 28-29.

„ ■ Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens, Winter Park: Closed Sept. 28-Oct. 2. „ SeaWorld Orlando: Park is closed and all events are canceled Sept. 28-29.

„ ■ UCF theater and other arts programs: Theatre UCF’s Sept. 28-30 performanc­es of “The

Interferen­ce” are canceled. The Sept. 29 faculty recital by Richard Drexler, the Sept. 30 in-person portion of the Latin American/ LatinX Film Festival and the Sept. 30 concert by the Flying Horse Big Band are all canceled. The UCF Art Gallery is closed Sept. 28-Oct. 2.

„ ■ Universal Orlando Resort: Closed Sept. 28-29. All events, including Halloween Horror Nights, are canceled.

„ ■ Walt Disney World: Closed Sept. 28-29. All events, including Mickey’s Not-SoScary Halloween Party, are canceled.

„ ■ YMCA of Central Florida family centers: All locations are closed and programs are canceled from Sept. 28-29.

Reopening is tentativel­y scheduled for Sept. 30 at noon.

„ ■ Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex: Closed Sept. 29-30 and all events canceled.

„ ■ KMFDM concert on Sept. 29 is canceled. Refunds will be given.

„ ■ Theatre West End: Sept. 29 and 30 performanc­es of “Rent” at the Sanford theater are canceled.

„ ■ Wisin & Yandel concert: Sept. 29 event will be reschedule­d. Oct. 1 event will proceed as planned.

„ ■ Central Florida Community Arts: Campus closed and all classes and events canceled Sept. 28-30. The anniversar­y breakfast, originally scheduled for Sept. 30, has been reschedule­d to Oct. 14.

„ ■ Cycle Mount Dora: Originally scheduled for Sept. 30-Oct. 2; reschedule­d to take place on Oct. 14-16.

„ ■ Space Coast Symphony Orchestra “Season to Remember” Party: Originally scheduled for Sept. 30; postponed to Oct. 6 -7.
