Ticked off! @back-in parking

-

The waste of money ticks me off. The county requires builders to plant trees on each new home site (good). The builders usually plant oak trees because they are cheaper than other varieties (bad). They plant one or two in the area between the street and the sidewalk (bad). Years later the same county has to spend money to repair/replace/resurface the sidewalks and streets because of the invasive oak tree roots and clean out the storm drains because of all the oak tree leaves (waste of money).

Aren’t you just as likely to hit a person or another car while backing into the space? I say zero sum gain.

School staff and teachers are very unprofessional. When a parent/guardian calls you concerning an issue at school regarding their child have respect, maturity and professionalism to return phone calls. I have no idea what your problem is but I am totally disgusted with the way these adults act. They are worse than the children. Also, the Board of Education should adopt a dress code for school staff and teachers. Dress professional. Many of you dress like you just rolled out of bed. Stop wearing baggy pants and stretch pants and t-shirts. You look like a slob. There is a big problem within the school system and it starts with the Board of Education.

To the person ticked off about people showing up for church late: Pretty clever, in my opinion. If you show up late enough, they’ve already passed the plate. Think, my friend, think!

Reading this week’s comments about backing into parking spaces; back home in Buffalo we always backed in just in case it snowed! But several years ago I got a parking ticket ($50) for backing into a spot in a garage near Amway Center. There actually was a sign about backing in but I did not see it. Please explain!

The flip side

Thank you to the man at Publix who left $20 for my groceries. I let him go ahead of me in line because I had a lot of coupons and didn’t want him to have to wait.
