Three people, including a 16-year-old boy, were arrested on murder charges in a homicide in Pine Hills last fall, the Orange County Sheriff ’s Office said Thursday.

Angel Luis Vega, 16, Demetrius King, 20, and Jaylee Palomino Ramirez, 19, are charged with first-degree murder.

According to an arrest affidavit, the trio hatched a plan to entice the victim, 18-year-old Jessiah Pharrell Boyd, with sex with Ramirez and another woman in order to rob him.

Deputies were called to the Groves apartment complex on Stardust Lane off Hiawassee Lane around 7:30 p.m. Oct. 20 for a vehicle accident. They found Boyd in a black Acura with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives uncovered surveillance video that captured how the shooting went down. It showed the Acura parked in front of one of the apartments and two women getting inside the car. That’s when Vega and King walked toward the driver’s side where Boyd was sitting and started shooting, the affidavit said. Ramirez, who was in the back seat, jumped out during the shooting, the affidavit said,

Boyd tried driving away but crashed a short time later. Vega and King then ran to the car and went inside to grab a backpack, the affidavit said. Detectives pulled Vega’s fingerprint from the car, according to the affidavit.

Vega is being charged as an adult, records show.

All three suspects are at the Orange County Jail without bond.

Boyd was a senior in high school and had plans to attend the University of Central Florida after graduation, according to WESH-Channel 2.

“I’m not supposed to be burying my son,” Boyd’s mom Patriece Johnson said at a vigil. “My kids are supposed to be burying me and it’s not right. It’s not fair.”
