Trump blasts Biden and DeSantis in speech

-

WEST PALM BEACH — Former President Donald Trump railed against Gov. Ron DeSantis and President Joe Biden on Wednesday night before thousands of his loyal followers.

Trump said he would “never forget” that DeSantis challenged him for the Republican nomination in 2024.

“You never know what’s going to happen, but in ’28, I don’t see it happening,” Trump added in a slap at the governor’s chances to run again for president in the next election cycle. “I can never forget there was such great disloyalty.”

He also said the governor was neglecting his duties in the state. “This guy is flying around wasting his time,” Trump said about DeSantis, who is trailing the former president badly in the polls.

Trump spoke to a group of hardcore loyalists known as Club 47 USA, drawing a crowd of nearly 4,000 to the Palm Beach County Convention Center.

Trump and other Republicans have tried to lay blame for the war in Israel on the Biden administration, particularly citing the release of nearly $6 billion in frozen assets to Iran, a supporter of Hamas. Administration officials say that money has not been spent and could not be used to support terrorism.

“With crooked Joe Biden, you have chaos, bloodshed, war, terror and death. Look what’s happening today,” Trump said.

The Biden campaign said Trump has been pushing dangerous misinformation about the crisis in Israel at a time when the country should stand together.

“While Trump continues to lie about his record, President Biden is laser-focused on providing steadfast support for Israel and leading on the global stage,” Biden campaign spokesman Kevin Munoz said.

“2024 is our final battle,” Trump said. “We will evict Joe Biden from the White House, and we will finish the job once and for all. With your help, we will put America first again, and we will make America great again.”
