Latest City Edition jerseys unveiled
The Magic’s newest City Edition jerseys are meant to continue to represent the team and city of Orlando as a “unique kingdom on the rise” while celebrating the franchise’s 35th season of basketball.
The all-blue uniform, which was released Friday, features the return of a metallic gray accent that represents “a suit of armor to display strength and fortitude,” the team said.
A gothic “Orlando” script remains front and center on the jersey but this year includes an iconic retro star in place of the “A” as a nod to the team’s uniform roots.
A diamond pattern that covers the jersey and shorts to add texture, and is meant to signify “a knight-worthy line of defense,” also returns this season.
The Magic will debut their new City Edition uniforms, and a returning court design to accompany them, Nov. 6 when they host the Dallas Mavericks at Amway Center.
They’ll wear them at 10 home games in 2023-24, including the team’s in-season tournament games.
City Edition uniforms, which are in their seventh season, were designed to represent the “stories, history and heritage that make each franchise unique — honoring the inherent bond between court, community and culture.”
The Magic’s previous City Edition uniform was unveiled in 2019 with an orange theme representing sunshine and citrus. The team wore variations of the orange theme from 2019-22.
This is the final of five Magic uniforms for the 2023-24 season: Statement (blue), Icon (black), Association (white), Classic Edition (blue) and City (all-blue).
The City Edition uniforms are available for purchase at the Orlando Magic Team Shop at Amway Center and online beginning Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. at www. orlandomagicshop.com.
