Ticked off! @self-checkouts

-

Obviously the implementation of self-checkouts has encouraged theft and also loss of cashier jobs. And if customer is challenged upon leaving, this indignation may cause confrontation and violence. Solution – give cashiers back their jobs! I resent having to do their jobs while a monitor stands there and watches me. I once asked, “How much do you get paid to watch me do your job?” Many times shoppers have an entire cart full and that is way too many items to do it yourself and all that is available are tiny plastic bags if you forget to bring your own. Also, the helpers who bag are out of a job. Common sense has died for sure.

I am ticked off that one local news station has on multiple occasions recently referred to the Speaker of the House as second in line to the Presidency. Every middle school student knows that the Speaker of the House is third in line to the Presidency after the Vice President. I was going to let it slide the first time I heard the anchor say this, but by the third time I had to point it out. We depend on our local newscasters to be accurate, doesn’t anyone fact check these reports?

It ticks me off that someone would leave a $125,000 a year job to volunteer on a political campaign. Smells fishy to me!

I am ticked off by pull tabs that are meant to open cans and instead fail, and I must use the can opener anyway! What a waste of time!

The flip side

I would like to thank Angel (healthcare worker) at Orlando Health-Health Central Hospital for stopping and helping me with my 81-year-old Mother near the elevator! My Mother was dizzy and needed to sit down and rest. He got her a glass of water for her medication and offered to assist her in getting to the ER or the car! Thank you to Angel for being a true Angel!
