Ticked off! @Orange County Mayor

-

I’m ticked off at the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce who hosted a candidate forum Wednesday and did not provide enough seats for those who wished to attend. They also did not notify those who registered that they had run out of seats.

To the two readers who complained about Christmas decorations still being displayed – I would rather see Christmas decorations in February than read a Ticked Off submission in which every single sentence ends in an exclamation point.

Would it have been too much trouble for the “Powers That Be” behind the recent Olympic trials to have sent out written notices to all of the people living in the afflicted neighborhoods informing us of the essential details about the course, road closures, routes around the course, etc. about a month or so before the race began? After all, if they can do it for local mini-marathons, they should have done it for an event like this. And furthermore, would it have been too much trouble for the local television news to have spent as much time covering the associated road closures and recommending alternate ways around downtown Orlando long before the day of the race as they did promoting it and encouraging fans to “Come on downtown and cheer on the Olympic hopefuls!”?

I’m ticked off that once again our Orange County Mayor is pushing for a one cent sales tax increase. What is it that he doesn’t understand about the word no? Change the law and use the tourist taxes for our roads and public transportation. Stop the insane expansion of that albatross known as the convention center and there will be ample funds to take care of what is so badly needed for our sad infrastructure.

I’m ticked off! Why is it that the people who say the economy is great are the same people who never actually go to a grocery store?

Thanks to the person who found my lost wallet and returned it to my door! Incredible!
