Ticked off! @special TV offers

-

The reason that “Special TV Offer!” Is “Not Sold in Stores!” is because retail chains’ corporate buyers — unswayed by slick infomercials under perfect lighting and touted by paid actors and announcers — have checked them out and don’t want their customer service counters backed up with returns from angry customers. Be sure to read the one star online reviews.

I am ticked off at Orange County Govenment’s misguided attempt to raise the sales tax again to fix local transportation, while at the same time throwing hundreds of millions of tax dollars at a bloated, overbuilt, mostly vacant convention center. This is an another example of the wealthy corporate influence persuading elected government officials to act contrary the the interetrests of the local residents who do most of the working, tax paying and voting in our county. Use some tourist tax dollars to fix Lynx and SunRail, allowing us better transportation to get to our jobs serving our tourists.

Been a Magic fan from the beginning, what amazes me is why our star player misses so often when he drives to the basket and shoots. But, when he drives and dunks. he is so much better. He just makes more points. He should drive and dunk, and at 6-foot-10 and 250 pounds he is a force.

I’m ticked off at the lady in my neighborhood who never picks up after her Chihuahua! Just because the dog is small doesn’t mean you don’t have to pick up its mess!

I am ticked off that Victoria Groce gets to play in the current Jeopardy invitational tournament. She is a professional trivia player as a trivia master on “The Chase,” unlike the other two contestants. Level the playing field!

The flip side

Thank you to a lady at my work who allowed me to borrow her solar eclipse glasses during the big event. It really was spectacular. Floridians will be able to experience a total solar eclipse on Aug. 12, 2045!
