OROVILLE » Semi-final updated results for the Butte County election came Friday afternoon, with just a few days remaining to finish and certify.

The county had spent the last week checking mail-in ballots before correcting the count on the website. County Clerk Recorder Candace Grubbs said while the office has until Wednesday to certify the results and take in around 2,000 expected corrected ballots, she doesn’t think anything major will change at this point.

Indeed, there were no significant changes to the margins held by the lead candidates running for Chico City Council’s four districts since the last update.

Sean Morgan and Kami Denlay lead Districts 1 and 3, respectively, by comfortable margins. In District 5, Andrew Coolidge leads Lauren Kohler by 339 votes while Deepika Tandon leads Rich Ober by 306 votes in District 7.

All leads in other council and board races held with few margin changes as well.

In Oroville, Scott Thomson leads with 2,882 votes with Janet Goodson at 2,549 and Krysi Riggs at 2,547. Bryan Flicker is a close fourth at 2,494; the top three vote-getters are elected.

Paradise Town Council leads are Greg Bolin, Rose Tryon and Steve Culleton. Gridley City Council’s are Michael Farr, Catalina Sanchez

and J Angel Calderon.

On the Chico Unified School Board, the two top candidates are Caitlin Dalby and Matt Tennis. The Chico Area Recreation and Park Director election leads were Michael Worley and Tom Lando.

Final election results will be certified Nov. 25 by the Clerk Recorder’s office. The returns show a turnout of nearly 83 percent, with 103,617 ballots cast out of 125,062 registered voters.
