One rescued after ATV goes down steep terrain
One person who went off the edge of Doe Mill Road in an ATV was later rescued and transported to a hospital for treatment Sunday.
First responders were dispatched to the site of the accident near Stirling City at 4:43 p.m. A Butte County Sheriff’s Office deputy first arrived to find one person approximately 30 feet off the roadway in steep terrain.
Butte County Search and Rescue as well as firefighters with Cal Fire-Butte County then arrived and deployed a rope system to rescue the person, who was then transported via FlightCare to Enloe Medical Center. According to Cal Fire-Butte County, the person sustained moderate injuries.
