Butte College police academy threatened
Local law enforcement checking visitors in at front gate of main campus
BUTTE VALLEY >> Butte College limited access to visitors until 5 p.m. Friday because of a threatening phone call the Butte College law enforcement academy received around 9:30 a.m., Butte College Media Relations Coordinator Lisa DeLaby said.
The campus was open for classes and never shut down or put on lockdown, however DeLaby said Friday the campus is closed for visitors.
The Butte College main campus limited access to students, staff, faculty and those who have business at Butte College. DeLaby said local law enforcement will be checking in with guests who want access to the Butte College main campus.
“Our campus police chief took (the phone call) seriously, but out of an abundance of caution he would work with local law enforcement and limit access to our front gate,” DeLaby said.
DeLaby said that there is an ongoing investigation into whoever made the threatening phone call.
