MIKEL ROBERT RUBINO

Former Oroville resident, Private First Class Mikel Robert Rubino, 29, died August 13, 2021, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, while actively serving in the United States Army. Mr. Rubino, a Paratroope­r with the 82nd Airborne Division, served as an infantryma­n assigned to the 2nd Battalion, the 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, and the 2nd Brigade Combat team.

During his Army career he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and the Army Parachute Badge. Mikel was born in Oroville, September 18, 1991. He was deeply loved by his family and friends. A beloved son, grandson, brother, father, uncle and friend. The memories of how deeply he cared about others, will be brought to the minds of those that knew him, and cherished for always. He was known for his signature laugh. Genuine, infectious and unforgetta­ble. The true st love of Mikel’s life was his daughter, Legacy. He took great, joyful pride in his role as her father. Mr.

Rubino is survived by his daughter, Legacy Annette Rubino, her mother Alyssa, his parents Sheila and Mark Gibson, his brothers, Zachary,

Anthony (Marisa) and Scott Gibson, his sisters, Tyler (Dereck) Sisk, Shyan Gibson and Caylie Rubino. His nieces Brooke, Bryson, Lea, Lilah and Mila. His maternal grandparen­ts, Ron and Phyllis Hiteshew, and paternal grand-parents, Sondra (Carey) McKnight and Vito (Pam) Rubino. His great grandmothe­r, Shirley Dorman, and his uncles Jim (Amber, Reid) Hiteshew and Bryan Cain. He was preceded in death by both his Father, Vito Rubino and Sister, Kerianne Rubino.

His graveside service will be held on Monday, August 30th @11am,
