ABOVE: Mural artists Ted Hanson and Frank Wilson got a helping hand from Forest Wong on Thursday in Oroville. Wong worked on painting the engineers in Georgia Pacific Feather River Railway Company Engine No. 1 section of the Train House Mural. If you look closely the engineer on the left is artist Wilson and the engineer on the right is artist Hanson. ABOVE, RIGHT: Forest Wong, left and Ted Hanson work on the Train House Mural painting Georgia Pacific Feather River Railway Company Engine No. 1 on Thursday.

ABOVE, LEFT: Work on the “Train House Mural” at 1351 Lincoln St. (between Bird and Montgomery streets) is progressing. The halfcity-block long wall has already been “transformed” from its previous blue and white motif to the painted wooden front of the railroad yard switching house with five bays for the five engines that will ultimately grace the side of the building. This mural, by Ted Hanson and Frank Wilson, was funded by the Oroville Arts Commission in May. The artist say it could take a year to complete the $40,000 project which pays tribute to the railroad history of Oroville. Artist Ted Hanson uses a rendering Thursday of Georgia Pacific Feather River Railway Company Engine No. 1 as his guide while working on the Train House Mural on Lincoln Street in Oroville.
