Another reason for ‘no’ vote on recall

-

Calling all Democrats. The consequences of the recall election may be worse than you thought.

With all due respect to California Senator Dianne Feinstein, at 87 years of age she is no youngster. In fact, she is the oldest member of the U.S. Senate. Therein lies one of the most frightening prospects of recalling Governor Newsom.

If Newsom is recalled, a new Republican governor most likely will be elected by a minority of California voters. (I know, I know … that the state’s top official can be elected by a minority of voters is really stupid, but that’s another story.) Then, if Senator Feinstein were to leave her office before the end of her term, for whatever reason, the new governor most certainly would appoint a conservative Republican to the vacant Senate seat.

And there goes pretty much everything progressives are fighting for across the whole nation—right down the drain.

Come on Democrats (and progressive independents), our way of life and a better future are on the line. This is our opportunity to protect Democracy, and we must act!

Just VOTE NO on the recall. Sign and seal your ballots, then get off your butts and put them in the mail before September 14. In fact, just do it now!

P.S. A heartfelt “thank you” to everyone who has voted already. But there is one more step: be sure and let your friends know how much is at stake. Every Dem must vote NO.
