City Plaza closed for repairs

City Plaza will be closed for maintenance beginning today and continuing for more than two weeks.

The work from Wednesday, Sept. 1 through Friday, Sept. 17 will include cleaning and repairs to the bathrooms, fountain, stage and electrical circuits, according to a press release from the city of Chico. Other repairs that may be needed will be performed as well.

Friday Night Concerts will be relocated to Children’s Park at 200 W. First St. while the plaza is closed.

The city said the work is being done to prepare for “several upcoming special events” to take place over the next few months.
