Disrespect shown to veterans memorial

Early this evening my best friend and I went to City Plaza to look at the veterans memorial that honors veterans that served in Vietnam. As we rounded the monument to see the names engraved on the back of it we were assailed by the stench of urine and the trash that was left behind the memorial.

If I had taken gloves, trash bags and a rake I would have cleaned it up, but alas I may have been accused of taking the belongings of some disenfranchised individual.

I am so disgusted with the disrespect shown to our property. It is ours, paid for with our taxes.
