Magalia man suspected of distributing child porn

MAGALIA >> The Butte County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday morning that it has arrested a Magalia man for allegedly possessing child pornography.

Dustin Massey, 24, was arrested after detectives allege they located evidence that gave them a reason to suspect Massey was using social media platforms to communicate and distribute harmful and obscene material to minor children.

On Aug. 4, detectives contacted Massey in Magalia, where detectives reportedly seized his electronic devices and later conducted forensic searches of them and located child pornography.

Detectives say they then obtained a warrant to arrest Massey, and on Aug. 25 he was arrested in Chico.

Detectives allege that they later learned he was using social media platforms to send harmful and obscene material to children.

Massey was booked in the Butte County Jail on suspicion of felony counts of possession of child pornography distribution of child biography and sending harmful matter to minors.
