Enloe Medical Center has announced the creation of a new position, the vice president of philanthropy and communications. The new position brings the total of senior managers at the hospital to seven.

In the new role will be Jolene Francis, former president of the Chico Chamber of Commerce from 2009 to 2011. Francis currently serves on the board of directors for the Chamber of Commerce and has been with the hospital since 2011 as director of Advancement and Communications since 2014.

“I really am lucky the teams that I’m working with right now have been in place for a long time and there is a lot of synergy there,” Francis said.

Since Francis joined the hospital, the Enloe Foundation which she oversees has raised more than $21 million. Significant fundraising achievements include the purchase of a new FlightCare helicopter in 2015 and the completion of the Starmer Cardiovascular Care Center this year. The hospital has also started a regular wellness podcast and released regular COVID-19 video updates.

“Jolene brings unique experience and skill to the job,” said Enloe President and CEO Mike Wiltermood. “Her leadership, relationships and philanthropy work have significantly impacted local medical services.”
