Looking back at a missed opportunity
Mr. Neal; think back to President Clinton in the White House. Foreign Intelligence did a remarkable job identifying a possible threat to our national security. It seemed a rich Saudi national was trying to wage war against the free world. CIA told the president to be ready to allow firing of a cruise missile to eliminate the threat.
At the meeting in a compound at Tora Bora were Bin Laden along with three of his top planners; Most all the Taliban and local tribal leaders of the farming-opium trade as well as a few others. A well placed cruise missile would eliminate a host of problems down the road. Remember the USS Cole; or the two embassies in Africa? Or shall we not forget the 9/11 or as I say 911 call 20 years ago.
One OK or push of the button and the threats I mentioned probably would not have been planned as the planners would be dead; but alas we come to the reason for in-attention and that would be Monica. What a waste. Remember Tora Bora.
