Former 49ers linebacker Haralson passes away at 37
Parys Haralson, a former 49ers linebacker and staff member, has passed away at age 37, the team confirmed Monday.
The cause of death is not immediately known.
“The 49ers are heartbroken and shocked by the news of Parys’ tragic passing,” read a team statement. “Parys was a beloved member of our organization that lived life with an extraordinary amount of passion and joy, while leaving an indelible mark on everyone he came across.
“We extend our condolences to Parys’ family and loved ones.”
Haralson, a San Jose resident, was a 2006 fifthround draft pick and spent seven seasons with the 49ers until they traded him right before their 2013 season. He missed the previous season’s Super Bowl run because of a triceps injury in training camp.
