Suspected burglar arrested in Chico
The Chico State University Police Department have announced an arrest made regarding a burglary that took place at a university residence on Sept. 8.
According to police, officers from the University Police as well as the Chico Police Department responded around 9:30 p.m. Sept. 8 to a report of an in-progress residential burglary at 325 Chestnut St. While speaking to the 9-1-1 operator, a resident at the address said someone had unlawfully entered their home. Although officers say they arrived within one minute after receiving the call, the subject reportedly left before the police’s arrival.
Despite the subject leaving, during University Police’s investigation, officers found surveillance footage. After further review of the footage, police said they identified the subject in the video as Adolfo H. Rivera Jr., 36.
Following the investigation, the University Police said in a news release, Rivera was located and arrested around 9 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of burglary. He was booked into Butte County Jail.
