Lack of data on Latinos

A recent survey of state criminal justice data showed that at least 40 states reported race (e.g., “White,” “Black,” “Other”) in their arrest records, but only 15 states reported ethnicity, which would include Latinos. As a result, the U.S. Department of Justice does not report Latinos as an individual group in its statistics and are not represented in some of the charts .
