Wildfire stopped under 3 acres
Firefighters stopped a wildfire at just over two acres Monday morning near Hoffman and Concow roads.
The fire was burning slowly when the first engine crews arrived shortly after 8 a.m. Monday and began laying hose around the flames, according to a news release from Cal FireButte County.
A bulldozer, a helicopter, two planes, two water trucks, a volunteer crew and more engines helped fight the blaze and contained it to 2.36 acres.
Engine crews were expected to remain at the site throughout the day extinguishing any hot spots and patrolling the fire line.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
