School district to host special meeting on Monday
PARADISE » The Paradise Unified School District will host a special meeting Monday afternoon and trustees will take on several issues.
The district trustees will be asked to approve a legal services agreement between the district and the law firm of Gutierez Perry and Villarreal.
Trustees will also be asked to approve a memorandum of understanding with the Butte County Office of Education to partner on the School Education and Safety program at Cedarwood Elementary.
The new memorandum is a result of the state legislators ap
proving an increase in the student daily reimbursement rates from $8.88 to $10.18.
According to a letter from the Office of Education, the increase in reimbursements is due to the increase in the minimum wage.
According to the letter, each school site has to provide at least 33% cash or in-kind local matching funds from the school district, government agencies, community organizations or the private sector for each dollar expended and grant funds.
Trustees were also be asked to approve the job description for the RTI speech support staff.
Trustees will also be asked to approve an agreement that allows the school district to use the Paradise Recreation and Park District’s swimming pool from Aug. 16, 2021 to Oct. 31, 2022.
The agreement would specify that the two districts share the operational expenses of the pool and at the PRPD would be responsible for all remaining ownership and operational costs of the pool.
PUSD’s daily schedule for use of the pool is subject to PRPD’s prior approval.
The school district will pay the PRPD $4 an hour for the actual use of the pool, swim pool rental and the district will pay a percentage of the PG&E charges equal to the school district actually use during the billing divided by the normal time during a similar period of time during which the pool is generally open.
However, the school district’s total cost for use of the pool will not exceed $6,000.
