One sent hospital following downtown accident
Chico—A crash between the driver of a sedan and a motorcyclist occurred around 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Eighth and Main Streets.
Chico Police and Fire responded to the scene. According to Chico Police Sergeant Bass, the motorcycle was headed northbound and the sedan was headed westbound before the collision.
Following the collision, the sedan crashed into a former muffler shop on Eighth Street and a corner of the structure was torn out. The driver of the sedan and passenger had minor injuries. The building was being used for storage and no one was occupying the building.
Chico Fire used lumber to repair the building, according to Battalion Chief Wes Metroka.
The motorcycle rider was deemed to be critically injured and was taken to the hospital.
