Salmon Festival will be a super-spreader

-

Thanks for your coverage of Saturday’s Oroville Salmon Festival, but I think you left out one important point: Of the more than 2,000 attendees at the festival, only 10-15 percent of them were wearing face masks to avoid catching or spreading the COVID virus to other attendees. Since less than 50 percent of Butte County residents over the age of 12 have been vaccinated, the festival, with people often packed close together, especially in lines at food and other vendors, could easily have become a super-spreader event. I await with trepidation figures on new COVID cases that will show up at Oroville and Enloe Hospitals over the coming week or two. (I, of course, was masked.)
