The Paradise High School varsity football team remained unbeaten in Sacramento Valley play Friday night with a 27-7 win over visiting East Nicolaus.

The homecoming win by the Bobcats (4-1, 2-0 in SVL) was keyed by three second-half touchdown runs by Taylor Harrison.

The first touchdown by Harrison was a 62-yard score to open the third quarter and give the Bobcats a 10-0 lead.

About three minutes later Harrison scored from 35 yards out after the Bobcats had stopped the visiting Spartans (1-4, 1-2 in SVL) on downs on their opening drive of the second half.

Late in the third quarter Aidan Luna kicked a 28-yard field goal to push the lead to 20-0.

That field goal was set up when the Bobcats stopped East Nicolaus on downs again, this time at their own 29.

It was also his second of the game, the first coming midway through the second quarter to give the Bobcats a 3-0 lead that they took into intermission. The Spartans did get the ball inside the Bobcats’ red zone midway through the fourth quarter, but a Hunter Timm interception at the PHS five stopped the drive.

The Bobcats turned that turnover into a 95-yard scoring drive that culminated with Harrison‘s third score, a 16-yard touchdown run.

The Spartans got on the board with about a minute to go on a 9-yard touchdown run by Ty Grigsby.

The Bobcats will be at Colusa next Friday night.
