Chico High tennis wins at Enterprise

The Chico High girls tennis team beat Eastern Athletic League opponent Enterprise on the road Thursday 9-0.

In singles, Summer Sun, Emma Syn, Bailey Hennig, Caroline LaMoe, Eden Thomas and Sheby Curtis all won their matches.

In doubles, the teams of Sun and LaMoe, Syn and Hennig, and Thomas and Citalia LaCroix won their matches.

Chico (9-1-1, 9-0 EAL) concludes its regular schedule at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against Foothill.

FOOTHILL 6, PLEASANT VALLEY 3 » Pleasant Valley lost its home matchup against Foothill 6-3 Thursday.

In singles Hannah Hanf and Alexis Sprotte won their matches.

In doubles the team of Sprotte and Lauren Needles won.

PV (6-5, 4-4 EAL) plays next at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against Shasta.

CHICO, PLEASANT VALLEY AT

RIVERVIEW GOLF COURSE, REDDING » The Pleasant Valley and Chico High girls golf teams competed at the Riverview Golf Course in Redding on Thursday.

Pleasant Valley placed first with a team score of 219, followed by Foothill’s 265 and Chico’s 269. Red Bluff, Enterprise and Shasta also competed in the event.

Makayla Low Carpenter shot a team-low of 39 for the Panthers, with Amy Burchett carding a 49. Chico golfers Jazelle Prince and Paige Connors tied at 60, with Yanesha Grey finishing with a 61.

No individual stats were reported by PV.

Pleasant Valley currently leads the league standings followed by Chico and Foothill.

Chico and PV compete next on Wednesday at the EAL Championsh­ips at

Wilcox Oaks Country Club in Red Bluff.
