NVCF seeking inquiries for Camp Fire project funding

- Staff reports

The North Valley Community Foundation is looking to provide grant funding to local organizations with projects directly tied to the Camp Fire burn area.

Funding is part of the foundation’s Butte Strong Fund and is intended for community development in all areas affected by the Camp Fire, said a press release issued Monday by the NVCF.

“Though the Butte Strong Fund remains focused on its top two priorities of housing and health and wellness, groups can make requests over the next month for funding to augment larger projects to help build or rebuild community landmarks and gathering places,” the release said.

The maximum grant comes out to $50,000. According to the release, projects could consist of community centers, historic landmarks, parks, trails, museums and gathering spaces.

Organizations seeking funding for such projects have until Nov.17 to apply for funding.

Those looking to apply can do so at www.nvcf.org/buttestrongfundapply.
