MARY F. CHAPPLE

Born APRIL 2, 1927 to Vivian Switzenberg and Berton Rockwell in Allegan, Michigan.

She married Richard G. Chapple on June 14, 1947. Mom loved to travel the world as an Air Force wife for 27 years living overseas in Morocco and Germany, and five different states. After Richard’s retirement in 1969 they continued to travel before eventually settling in Southern California.

Mom managed a mobile home park for 26 years while being an active leadership volunteer for the Pettis VA Medical Center in Redlands, California.

Upon retirement she moved to Chico, California to be closer to family where she continued her community spirit by volunteering 40 hours a week at the American Cancer Society Shop.

She is survived by her five children: Bruce, Panama City, Florida; Sandra (John) Herbert, Chico, CA; Sharon (Bruce) Moulenbelt, Allegan, MI; Susan Kaylor Rasar, Decatur, IL; and Samuel (Missy) of Green Bay, WI.

She had 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mom died October 15, 2021 at home with family by her side and will be interred with Richard at Riverside (California) National Cemetery.
