Extraordinary dedication sets Lucero apart
Incumbent County Supervisor Debra Lucero is running for re-election in the new District
2. Quite frankly, she is the best person for the job.
I don’t get enough space in this letter to properly sing Debra’s praises: her accomplishments are far too numerous. I believe Debra’s true strengths, however, lie in her exceptional character, tenacious dedication, and consequent high quality work.
I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Debra personally while watching her in action on the Board of Supervisors over the last four years.
You won’t find a more passionate, hard-working, dedicated, and thoughtful public servant. We desperately need more leaders like Debra.
Want a few examples of her extraordinary dedication? Debra:
• Attended supervisor meetings for two full years before running for office, constantly educating herself on critical county issues. Conducted behind-the-scenes negotiations that effectively provided $1.7 million to Chico to address homelessness and resolve a disastrous federal lawsuit.
• Worked with county staff to leverage Opportunity Zones for economic opportunities and increase affordable housing and transportation potential.
• Continues to work tirelessly for all residents across the county—not just those in her district—to address flooding, economic development, cell tower intrusion, nitrate exposure, county roads, public landscaping, groundwater protection, and countless other issues facing Butte County.
• Debra always does her homework and asks the tough questions. This often annoys her less conscientious Republican colleagues on the board, but finding workable solutions to complex problems demands it.
I urge District 2 voters to reelect Supervisor Debra Lucero. — James Aram, Chico
